The Solar Eclipse is a once or twice in a lifetime experience! The last full solar eclipse visible in the United States happened in 1979. This year the total solar eclipse will end its course in South Carolina. Solar Eclipse Festival
Yonder Field has food, fun, and even camping at the Solar Eclipse Festival. It’s the first official festival being held at Yonder Field’s new outdoor event space in Bowman, SC. Events include The Great Inflatable Race, music by Uncle Kracker, and a first run movie. Overnight camping is available from Sunday, August 20 to Tuesday, August 22. Food and beverages are available for purchase and general admission costs $25, this includes music and movie (inflatable race tickets are extra).
Freshfields Village
Freshfields Village in Kiawah Island has number of activities planned for the eclipse. This is a great stop if you’re headed to the beach. Live NASA coverage will be screened throughout the eclipse. Activities include the Solar Sidewalk Art Contest and you can prizes for best solar themed drawing. The FortyEight Wine Bar offers beer, wine, and solar eclipse themed cocktails.
