Take notice, foodies. The 2018 Charleston Restaurant Week is set for September 5-16. It’s your chance to visit this charming historic city in South Carolina and sample their famed Lowcountry cuisine at a third or even half the price. This year they are pairing the event with Charleston Beer Week. Look for participating restaurants for specialty brews to complement your fare.

Sponsored by the Greater Charleston Restaurant Association, Charleston Restaurant Week is one of the Southeast’s most highly anticipated culinary events. Take advantage of prix fixe lunch and dinner menus at a number of participating restaurants for the 11-day long cuisine adventure.

Here are some of your best bets from Downtown to Greater Charleston:

Downtown

Located in Charleston’s historic French Quarter, 82 Queen will offer a lunch menu price of two $15, and dinner, three for $35. Try their Jambalaya prepared with fresh local shrimp, Lowcountry Gumbo, or Barbeque Shrimp & Grits for a fraction of the usual price.

Magnolias on East Bay Street has been serving upscale Southern cuisine since 1990. They will offer three courses for $30 for Restaurant Week. Magnolias has lots of tasty items like their unique South Egg Roll stuffed with chicken, Tasso ham, and collard greens.

The Islands

Look for special Restaurant Week prices to be posted for Coconut Joes, the Caribbean-themed beach bar & grill out at the Isle of Palms. Feast on island seafood and Southern-fried favorites on a deck with an ocean view.

A laid-back island lifestyle is the inspiration for the Bohemian Bull on James Island. Enjoy specialty burgers, salads, and wings prepared Southern-style. They offer a two for $25 or $35 menu, and are also participating in Beer Week.

Mount Pleasant

SpiritLine Cruises will participate again this year offering the ultimate in waterfront dining with the low price of $45 per person on weekdays and $50 on weekends. You’ll get four courses along with live entertainment and harbor views.

West Ashley

Travel west of the Ashley River for tasty Southern Barbeque at Swig & Swine Barbecue. Their Restaurant Week menu includes a choice of two meats, two sides, and a dessert for $20. Choose from pulled pork, beef brisket, smoked meats and traditional Southern sides like mac & cheese or coleslaw.

North Charleston

Restaurant Week extends beyond town to great restaurants like Yokoso with three courses for $20. Start with a choice of four tasty appetizers like Crispy Crab Wonton or Fried Shrimp Gyoza. Move on to an entree of Hibachi Shrimp or Steak and Teriyaki Chicken. Enjoy a free small saki, iced tea, or a soft drink along with your meal.
