The world’s largest oyster festival returns, Sunday, January 26, 2020 to the Boone Hall Plantation. There’s no better way to celebrate a New Year tradition than with 80,000 pounds of oysters! Named one of the “top 20 events in the southeast” by Southeast Tourism Society, the 2020 edition celebrates the 37th Annual Lowcountry Oyster Festival.
Are you ready to shuck some oysters? The Lowcountry Oyster Festival is presented by Red Clay Hot Sauce. The event also serves as a charitable fundraiser, benefitting charities and education partners (which will be announced closer to the event).
Highlights of festival include the legendary “Oyster Shucking” and “Oyster Eating” contests, live music on the main stage (Opening is the The Bluestone Ramblers), wine and a selection of domestic and imported beers, a Children’s Area, and a “Food Court,” which showcases local restaurants and food trucks. There’s also an exclusive VIP area that includes catered unlimited local oysters, food, and beverages with a VIP menu catered by Queen Street Hospitality.
The Pluff-a-Pallooza Children’s Areas feature family-friendly activities like jump castles, cookie decorating, a “Sweetgrass Palace” and more.
